But being family-owned doesn’t mean operating informally. ACE Asbestos & Demolition maintains every licence, every SWMS, every insurance policy and every piece of disposal documentation that a Tier 2 civil contractor would carry — not because it’s always legally required at this scale, but because it’s the right way to work.
OUR STORY
Shane’s career in the civil industry spans more than 10 years. He came up through the trades, building deep, hands-on knowledge of demolition, asbestos removal and earthworks at every scale — from single-storey fibro homes to multi-storey industrial facilities. Over time, that experience turned into a business with its own name, its own identity and its own way of doing things.
ACE Asbestos & Demolition was founded on a straightforward belief: that Queensland homeowners, property developers and builders deserve a contractor who combines genuine trade expertise with the communication, reliability and documentation standards they’d expect from a much larger organisation. Too often, operators deliver one or the other. ACE Asbestos & Demolition delivers both.
Mel manages the operations side of the business — client communication, scheduling, quote coordination and compliance administration. Her involvement means nothing falls through the cracks. Every quote is detailed and transparent. Every job is properly documented from start to finish. Every client knows exactly what’s happening and when.

EVERY JOB IS SITE-ASSESSED
No job is quoted over the phone from a single measurement. Shane personally walks every site before a quote is issued. He identifies hazards, assesses access, checks for asbestos or other materials, and produces a written scope of works that leaves no room for surprises — for ACE Asbestos & Demolition or for the client.
DOCUMENTATION AS STANDARD
Every ACE Asbestos & Demolition project is fully documented from commencement to handover. Safe Work Method Statements are prepared before works begin. Disposal receipts, air monitoring results and clearance certificates are issued where required. A completion report is available on request. This matters when you’re dealing with insurers, certifiers, council or your builder.
DIRECT COMMUNICATION
You won’t be passed to a call centre or a project coordinator you’ve never spoken to. Shane and Mel handle all client communication directly. If something changes on site, you’re told immediately — not after the fact. If there’s a problem, it’s dealt with transparently and quickly.
FULLY LICENCED & INSURED AT ALL TIMES
ACE Asbestos & Demolition holds a full asbestos removal licence covering both Class A (friable) and Class B (non-friable) materials. Public liability insurance and WorkCover are maintained at all times and are available for review on request. These aren’t paperwork formalities — they’re the baseline standards that protect you, your property and everyone on site.
PLANT & EQUIPMENT
ACE Asbestos & Demolition operates its own fleet of plant and equipment, maintained to the same standard as any tier civil contractor. Owning and maintaining our own machinery means we control our scheduling and our quality — we’re not dependent on third-party hire companies and their availability. It also means our team knows the equipment inside out.
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
Up to 80% of all demolition waste is sorted on site and recycled. Asbestos and hazardous materials are disposed of at EPA-approved facilities, with documentation provided as standard. ACE Asbestos & Demolition takes environmental obligations seriously — both because the law requires it and because it’s the right thing to do.

Asbestos Removal Licence
Full Class A & B licence covering all types of asbestos-containing materials, issued under Queensland workplace health and safety legislation.
Public Liability Insurance
Comprehensive public liability cover maintained at all times. Certificates available on request for builders, developers and certifiers.
WorkCover Queensland
All crew and operations covered under Queensland WorkCover. Current at all times and available for review prior to works commencing.
EPA-Compliant Disposal
All waste disposed of at EPA-approved facilities. Disposal documentation provided on completion for asbestos and hazardous materials.
SWMS for Every Job
Safe Work Method Statements prepared and reviewed for every project before works begin. Copies available for principal contractors and site supervisors.
